Many, many residents of Phase III decided to move here to Sunlakes for the opportunity to play lots and lots of golf and if it wasn't the major reason, it certainly helped them to decide.  With  45 holes, playing golf is surely major part of life for many of us.  If you are a fairly new resident, you probably don't remember when the pro shops at Oakwood and Ironwood were modular buildings.   Oakwood's was behind the 9th green and you posted scores and read the bulletin board in another small building attached to it.  Ironwood's was just a bit larger than an outhouse and was out where the road past the club house is now.  A big   new pro shop was promised "sometime" and now we do have one of the better pro shops around, at Oakwood, to compliment the nice facility at Ironwood.  You may be interested to know that about 60,000 rounds of golf are played over these courses every year and it takes some measure of good management by good people to make golf the pleasure it is for us.
