III.  Maintenance – Jon Whitmyer

       A.  Jon introduced Charles Keyes, new assistant superintendent.

       B.  Jon and his crew were commended on the condition of the Lakes #3

             bunker.

       C.  There is a question on a sign on the spillway by the green on Sonoran #9.

             Jon will check into it.

IV.  Golf Course/Pro Shops – Bob Pancratz and Dennis Allan

       A.  Sale of 2007 fees and trail fees continue with 911 annuals and play cards.

       B.  The area west of the Oakwood cart staging area will be graded and graveled

             in April.

       C.  Hole numbers in both Ironwood and Oakwood cart staging areas will be

painted soon.  It was asked if more space could be put between the cart

             spaces.

       D.  Golfers can use measuring devices (per the local rule adopted by RCI) unless

              their association forbids them.

       E.  Clarification of  paid “trail fee” but “no cart” situation will be covered at the

             next meeting.

V. Miscellaneous

        A.  The “Adopt-A-Hole” program is put on hold until a Chair is found.

        B.   Discussion about the proposed golf committee charter:

               1.  Why have “at large” members?

               2.  Chair position should be rotated, but need a chair who knows golf

committee history and has a positive relationship with RCI.

        C.  Arnie Pinsly was asked to develop a method for golfers to make

suggestions and present a report at the next meeting.

        D.  A letter from Tony Talerico was discussed about grass conditions on the

Oakwood course.  Jon explained that Oakwood doesn’t handle excessive

travel well. The grass is lower because 320 rounds of golf are played daily at

              Oakwood versus 180 at Ironwood.

        E.  The explanation of the “use of chemicals” letter has gone out to the

              membership.

       F.  Can golf membership list be updated with Char Petragallo?   Or would a

Chelsea “blast” go to all golfers?  Dennis will pursue this ”blast” as a way to

reach all golfers.  Dick will talk to Char about  the  golf e mail list.

The meeting was adjourned and the group moved to the Oakwood course to  check

grass length, how cups are set, and bunker drainage.

The next meeting will be at Ironwood on April 16 at 3:00.

Respectfully submitted,

Karen Kenyon, Secretary
